Default Knight's Insignia VS Absorption

I do understand that the Superior Absorption Rune does not stack with other of the same Runes applied to another piece of your armour... but does it stack with the Knight's Insignia?

As far as i know, just as with any other rune (minor, major, superior).. they will stack with anything but themselves.. meaning, you may add 1 rune but not more than one of the same type.. eg) you could add a sup absorbtion for -5, and a sup sword for a +3, but you cannot add a sup sword and another sup sword for a +6 or a minor sword with it for a +4. The other runes must be of a different type to be added..

I have a rit with a sup channelling+minor spawning+minor communing.. it works because they are all of a different attribute. they will not stack if they are the same attrib.

Fixed.

Just if anyone was considering Knight's Insignia, don't. Warriors already get 116AL vs. physical (more with +AL armor insignia), whereas they only have 96AL vs. elemental. Adding more elemental defense is obviously the first priority. Of course exceptions exist for non-standard circumstances like farming raptors.

The long answer:

The Rune of absorption, is well a rune. It can be placed on any piece of armor and it will reduce the (physical) damage wherever you are hit,

The Knight's insignia is an insignia and only effects the piece of armor it upgrades.

You may have both and the Rune of Absorption and the Knight's insignia.

Runes as a general rule will not stack with runes of the same type. The only exceptions of course are Vitae and Attunement runes.

Short answer:
Yes

The 116AL would be including the shield. The sentinel insignia would put you on even footing with the ranger VS elemental damage. However, it does require you to have strength set to at least 13.

I totally disagree. We've been down this path before many times in the warrior forum. If you are in danger of dying to a spike, then you obviously need to cover whatever damage type presents the most danger of a wtfpwn spike. If you're not in danger of dying to a spike, then the damage you take is damage is essentially fungible. (Stopping 1 damage off each of 5 hits or stopping 5 damage off 1 hit and 0 off the next 4 hits both leave your lifebar in the same place.) So, whatever stops the most total damage spread over all the hits you take is the best option.

Accordingly, I assert:
1. Your warrior should not be in danger of getting spiked to death. If you are, you've got bigger things to worry about than your choice of insignia.
2. There's quite a few situations where physical damage is predominant enough that Knights stops more total damage than Dreadnought or Sentinel's.
3. In the vast majority of situations non-elemental damage is predominant enough that Sentry's stops more total damage than Sentinel's.
